This is derived from the common “milk weed” which is a Euphorbia species. It comes in two strengths (0.015% for face and neck and 0.05% for other body areas).
Its advantage is that it is much quicker than either Efudix or Aldara (3 days for face and neck and 2 days for body).
It typically creates very severe reactions.
Whilst highly effective in some patients, most will overall find it a much less effect treatment than Efudix. There is a much higher recurrence rate of actinic keratosis and multiple treatments are necessary.
It is much more expensive than Efudix. It is useful for those patients wishing a shorter overall treatment and is an alternative for those with an Efudix allergy.
